Obituary

F. J. Letteer, 73, Former City Man Dies Saturday

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday from Vertin’s-Wahpeton Chapel for Frank J. Letteer, 73, Perham, who died Saturday at his home there. Mr. Letteer was a longtime Wahpeton resident before moving to Perham on retirement in 1957.

Rev. Everett C H. Owens will be officiating clergyman. Mrs. F D Brown will be organist and Clifford Cummins, vocalist. Interment will be at Fairview cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening (today) and Tuesday until time of services at Vertin’s-Wahpeton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Letteer was formerly employed at the Northwestern Sheet and Iron works from 1920 until he retired as foreman in 1957.

He was born in LaCrosse, Wis., and came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Letteer to the Fairmount area later moving to north of Wahpeton. He was married to Anna Fiala Aug. 26 1912, and they moved to Wahpeton in 1915, residing here nearly 45 years.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter Mrs. Fred (Hazel) Reinholz Perham; two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers Ray, Wahpeton, and Roy, Collis, Minn., and two sisters Mrs. William (Hazel) Weiss, Wahpeton and Mrs. Earl (Cecil) Valker, Breckenridge. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one brother and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Woodrow Lehman, Kirk Bale, Warren Mohs, Ted Gas, Douglas Lenzmeier and John Dauer. Vertin’s-Wahpeton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
