Jens Lovdokken
Services for Jens L. Lovdokken, 87, Wyndmere, are pending from the Wyndmere Lutheran Church with the Rev. Thomas McShannock officiating.
He died Monday at St. Francis Hospital.
Jens Lovdokken was born March 16, 1891, at Wyndmere to Ole and Henrietta (Kjerluf) Lovdokken. He was raised in Garborg Township and attended local schools He later graduated from the Aaker Business College at Fargo.
He farmed with two brothers before his marriage to Julia Lee at Selby, S.D. The couple farmed in Garborg Township until 1943, when they moved to Wyndmere.
He started an insurance business in Wyndmere. He was active in the communities in which he lived, serving as clerk of township and school boards. He was a director of the Home Mutual Insurance Company, and served on the Richland County Drain Board.
Mr. Lovdokken was a member of the Wyndmere Lutheran Church and served as a church deacon. He was a member of the Concordia College C-400 Club.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Haldor (Hazel) Berg, Walnut Creek, Calif., and Mrs. Lee Roy (Jean) Iverson, Fayetteville, N.Y.; a son, the Rev. Ogden Lovdokken, Springfield, Ore.; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.
