Mrs. Harry MacLaughlin Dies Here Early Monday After Extended Illness Beloved Wahpeton Young Woman And Mother To Be Buried Wednesday Afternoon

Mrs. Harry McLaughlin, 32 years old, passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Swank, at 5:30 Monday morning. Mrs. McLaughlin had been suffering a long time. Beside her husband she is survived by her two sons, Charles, six years old, and Harry Hunter, Jr., and a sister, Miss Hazel. All were present at her beside when death occurred.

Grace Swank McLaughlin was born in Wahpeton, August 8, 1898. She received her education in the Wahpeton schools, the State School of Science and, later graduated from Th. University of North Dakota. For a time before her marriage , she taught school in this county. Grace Swank was one of the most popular girls in the community, beloved and respected by all who knew her. She was a member of the order of Eastern Star of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at Grand Forks, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

In August, 1921, Miss Grace Swank was united in marriage with Harry McLaughlin. The young couple have since made their home in this community and have a large number of friends. Mr. McLaughlin has been engaged in business in Wahpeton for a number of years.

Funeral services are to be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock from the Congregational church at Wahpeton and interment will take place here. The news of Mrs. McLaughlin’s death came as a distinct shock to the community and a host of friends and neighbors join in sympathy with the grief-stricken family at the loss of one of the city’s finest young women and mothers.
