Obituary
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from the Schmitt & Olson chapel here for Charles Malottke, who has resided here for the past five years. Mr. Malottke was born January 15, 1852, in Germany and came to this country when a lad of 18 years.
He settled in Lowden, Iowa after living in Chicago for two years. He homesteaded there. Later, he moved to Wabaska, Minn., where his wife died and then to Beach, N.D. With his sons, Carl and Otto he came to Wahpeton five years ago.
He is survived by three sons Carl, Otto and Albert, Lowden, Ia., and a daughter of Independence, Iowa. All of the children were here for the funeral. Rev. Becker conducted the services and burial was in Fairview cemetery.
