Mrs. Manchester Dies Thursday
Funeral Services Held on Saturday
Mrs. Julia Manchester passed away at St. Mary’s hospital on Thursday afternoon, June 2nd. She had been a patient for about two months.
Mrs. Manchester was born in Norway, June 27, 1866. Julia Engebretson came to the United States with her parents in 1869 and was married to W. E. Manchester May 2, 1893. To this union was born one child, Utmer R. Manchester, Wahpeton, who survives. The couple came to Wahpeton in 1907 from Jackson, Minn., and engaged in bakery business here until 1924.
Six brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services were held from Trinity Episcopal church with Rev. W. M. Walton officiating.
Out of town relatives who attended the services were four nieces, Miss Emma Engebretson , Miss Bertha Engebretson, Mrs. Walter Colbeck and Mrs. Fred Church , all from Luverne, Minn., and nieces and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Jacobson and Mr. and Mrs. Einar Westgaard of Rugby, N.D.
Burial was at Fairview cemetery.
Pallbearers were A. C. Chard, W. H. McClintock, Linn Harris, Wm. Braun, Wallace Morden and George Hunkins, Jr.
