Mrs. Ross Marsh Buried Thursday

Funeral Services for Prominent Wahpeton Woman Conducted From St. John’s Church

Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning at ten o’clock from St. John’s church here for Mrs. Ross Marsh, well known and highly respected Wahpeton woman who died here Monday. Mrs. Marsh had been ill since January 1938, and had been in the Wahpeton hospital since November 23.

Kathryn Meyer was born August 30, 1887, at Wahpeton, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Meyer. She attended schools here and grew to womanhood in this city. She married July 24, 1906, to Ross Marsh, who is employed in the post office here. She was prominent in social circles of the city, being a member of the Rebekah lodge, the Lady Foresters, the Woman’s Relief Corps and the Christian Mothers Society.

She is survived by her husband and brothers and sisters; Mrs. Gertrude Rettig, Wahpeton, Mrs. Elizabeth Dorn, Wahpeton; Mrs. Mary Lotzer, Kent; Mrs Clarence Orgon, Minneapolis; Mrs. Orville Lee, Morris, Minn; and Charles Frank and Nick of Wahpeton.

The body lay in state at the Vertin Funeral chapel Wahpeton from Tuesday until the funeral services at ten Thursday morning from St. John’s church with Rev. F. A. Meyer officiating. Pallbearers were: Alfred Lotzer, Jos. Dorn, Gerald Meyer, Clifford Meyer, Frank Rettig and Peter Dorn. Burial was in the Marsh family lot in Fairview cemetery.
