Obituary
RITES FOR BRECK FARMER TO BE HELD HERE Rev. Folley Will Conduct Services for Herman Marten, 61, Who Died Saturday Evening Herman Marten, farm resident of Breckenridge for 12 years, died at 8 o’clock Saturday evening at this home of cerebral hemorrhage, his death coming a week after he suffered a paralytic stroke. Funeral services for Mr. Marten will be held at Foss M. E. church of this city, probably tomorrow. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
Mr. Marten was born March 19, 1862, in Gutenburg, Iowa. He was married in Iowa 31 years ago to Miss Ocenia De Vall, and lived in that Sixteen – state until coming, accompanied by his family, to Wilkin county 12 years ago. He lived near Foxhome until 1920, when he removed to the farm east of Breckenridge.
Mr. Marten is survived by his widow and eight children. The latter are: Albert Marten of this city, whose wife is a daughter of Mrs. Minnie Merguson; Mrs. Earl Barton and Earl Marten, Breckenridge farm residents; Mrs. Alvina Lonkow and Mrs. Jessie Lonkow, Foxhome; George, Fred and Miss Margaret Marten, at home.
