WIDOW OF MARTEN FOLLOWS HIM IN DEATH
Funeral Held Here Saturday for Woman Who Died Two Months After Husband
Rev. E. A. Folley conducted funeral services at Foss M. E. church Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Ocenia May Marten, widow of Herman Marten, Breckenridge farmer who died hardly more than two months ago.
Mr. Marten's death occurred the evening of Saturday, March 1. His widow died last Wednesday at a Fergus Falls hospital, which she entered 11 days before to submit to an operation. She was recovering from the operation, but acute heart trouble developed and she died of this cause.
Mrs. Marten was born in New York State, but had spent several years in Iowa and her marriage to Mr. Marten took place in that state thirty-one years ago. The family 12 years ago came to Wilkin County, settling first near Foxhome and later removing to a farm east of Breckenridge.
Mrs. Marten is survived by eight children: Albert Marten of this city (a son-in-law of Mrs. Minnie Ferguson); Mrs. Earl Baron and Earl Martin, Breckenridge farm resident; Mrs. Alvina Lonkow and Mrs. Jessie Lonkow, Foxhome; George, Fred and Miss Margaret Marten, at home.
