Obituary
Mrs. J. Martin Dies Tuesday
Mrs. John E. (Winnifred) Martin, 54, of Wahpeton died unexpectedly at her home early Tuesday morning of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday (today) at Vertin’s-Wahpeton Chapel with the Rev. Edward J. Rutter officiating. Miss Janet Rutter was the organist. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Marohl, Lyle Kast, Harold Lehman, Leander Leim, Paul Kressin and Glen Raftevold
Winnifred Thomson was born at Seattle, Wash., March 26, 1915, the daughter of Arthur and Mae Thomson. She married John Martin at Fergus Falls Aug. 20, 1949 and the couple resided in Breckenridge for two years before moving to Wahpeton. She had been employed by the Wahpeton Laundry for many years before accepting employment at the North Dakota State School of Science.
She is survived by her husband; a son, John Jr., a student at the State School of Science; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Arlene) Rafter of Aldenwood, Wash., two brothers and a sister, Arthur and Donald Thomson and Mrs. Ednar Broom, al of Seattle; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
