Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Massey Dies Wednesday
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Vertin’s-Wahpeton Chapel for Mrs. Ruth G. Massey, 62, former Wahpeton resident who died Wednesday at St. Luke’s hospital in Fargo. She ha been ill for the past year.
Rev. Loyal E. Golf will be officiating clergyman. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Massey was born at Lake Mills, Iowa the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Smith. She came with her parents to DeLamere and six years later to Wahpeton. She was a graduate of Wahpeton high school.
She was married to Cecil W. Massey in 1919. They resided at Fergus Falls until 1925 and later in Fargo and Devils Lake.
Mrs. Massey worked in Chicago until 1958 when she moved to Wahpeton to care for her mother. The past year she has been living in Fargo with a son, Kenneth C. Massey.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth C. Massey, Fargo; two brothers Louis S. Smith, Oakland, Calif., and Kenneth M. Smith, Los Banos, Calif.; and uncle, Thomas B. Tisdel, Wyndmere and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Arrangements were by Vertin’s-Wahpeton Funeral Home.
