Obituary
Rosa Matheson
The funeral for Mrs. William (Rosa) Matheson, 83, of Breckenridge will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Edward J. Rutter officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Matheson died Wednesday morning at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 p.m. and continuing through the evening at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home chapel, Breckenridge, with a prayer service at 7:30. There will also be visitation one hour prior to services at the church.
Rosa Heine was born Feb. 24, 1892 at Ellendale, N.D. to August and Mary (Reetz) Heine. She was baptized and confirmed a Lutheran. As a child she moved with her family to the Great Bend vicinity where her parents farmed. She attended schools at Great Bend and Wahpeton.
She married William Matheson July 24, 1920 at Breckenridge. They continued to live in Breckenridge where he operated a concrete business for many years. He died in 1973.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Kosek of St. Paul, Mrs. Alfred (Darline) Leland of Wahpeton and Mrs. Lynal (Baris) Oscarson of Salem, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Rudolph (Clara) Naber of Waco, Neb. and Mrs. Henrietta Anderson of Kennwick, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and two brothers.
