Miss McMichael Funeral Friday

Miss Beatrice McMichael, 83, former Fargo resident, died early Wednesday at the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 Friday in the Trinity Episcopal Church in Wahpeton with Rev. Richard Millar officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home.

Miss McMichael was born Jan. 9, 1887, at Sheldon, N. D., the daughter of Robert and Mathilda (Von Egmond) McMichael. She attended Wahpeton schools and the Red River Valley University at Wahpeton. In 1906, she went to Fargo and was employed by several law firms. She was appointed secretary and court reporter for Judge Andrew Miller in 1930 and in 1937 was appointed clerk of the United States District Court at Fargo. She served in that capacity for Judge Charles Vogel and Judge Ronald Davies. She was a member of the bar of the state of North Dakota and also was admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court. She was named in "Who's Who in North Dakota. Miss McMichael retired in 1957 and resided in Fargo until 1963 when she moved to the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center.

She is survived by three nieces and two nephews, Mrs. Lois B. Hauskens and Dale R. McMichael, both of Wahpeton, John V. Haas of Chicago, Mrs. Edward (Janet) Schroer, of Eau Claire, Wis.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Tom, Robert, Anthony and Mrs. Maude Haas.
