Obituary
Rites Held for Mrs. R. V. McMichael Of Wahpeton
Funeral services were held Wednesday from Trinity Episcopal church for Mrs. Robert V. (Sarah Ann) McMichael 76, of Wahpeton, lifelong resident of Richland County, who died Monday at St. Francis hospital.
Rev. Harold S Jones was officiating clergyman. Interment was at Fairview cemetery.
Mrs. McMichael was born March 18, 1886, near Lidgerwood, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rickert. She came to Wahpeton as a child with her parents.
She was married to Robert V. McMichael on July 5, 1907. Mr. McMichael served as Richland county sheriff and was in the livestock business. He died in 1935. Later Mrs. McMichael lived with her daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Lois) Hausken of Wahpeton, until December of last year when she became a resident of the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center.
Survivors include one son, Dale, Wahpeton; two daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Lois) Hausken, Wahpeton, and Mrs. Edward (Janet) Knadle, Washington D.C. and nine grandchildren.
One brother, J. E. Rickert, Boise, Idaho, and two sisters, Mrs. George (Blanche) Stull and Mrs. Ruth Schultz, both of Wahpeton, also survive.
Organist was Mrs. Arnold Normann. Vocalist was Mrs. Paul Beithon. Pallbearers were Art Hausken, Harold Diederich, Norbert Morris, Stanley Beach, John Flaa and Art Scheer.
Vertin’s-Wahpeton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
