Lessing Mehl-1902
Death has again entered our midst and taken from us a strong man right in the prime of usefulness. One who has held the respect of every person in the community and has been a fitting example for his associates. He was for a number of years a member of Methodist Sunday school.
Lessing A. Mehl died at his home just across the bridge on the Breckenridge side last Friday morning, Aug 24, 1902, with typhoid fever after a severe illness of 5 weeks.
He was born in San Francisco, Calif, Mar 16, 1880, and at the time of his death 21 years, 10 months and 8 days of age. He moved to Wahpeton from California 13 years ago and has since made his home in the vicinity. The father and mother and two sisters and one brother survive the young man and are left to mourn their loss. The funeral took place at the home last Saturday, Rev E. Weisctheim officiating.
