Obituary

Mrs. J. Meyer Rites Tuesday

Mrs. Joseph (Clara E.) Meyer, 71, of Wahpeton died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 Tuesday in St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton with the Rev. John Sandell celebrant. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Martin, Clifford Baumer, Stanley Woods, Francis Gerou, Donald Pausch and Verel Moore.

Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening in Vertin's-Wahpeton West Chapel. The Rev. John Sandell will conduct a Bible Vigil service at 8 p.m.

Clara E. Holm was born February. 25, 1898 at Dwight, N.D., the daughter of Carl and Emma (Olson) Holm. She was raised at Dwight and later lived in Montana for several years. She married Joseph Meyer Oct. 21, 1925, at Cass Lake, Minn., where the couple resided until 1932 when they moved to Wahpeton. Mr. Meyer died in January 1962. Mrs. Meyer had been a resident of the Leach Home since it opened. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Gold Star Mothers and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Hugh (Rose) Moore of Doran, Minn., Mrs. Gene (Emma) Peters of Davenport, Iowa, Mrs. Virgil (Alice) Pausch of Hankinson; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Amy) Nelson of Fergus Falls and Mrs. Herman (Johanna) Tiegs of Alameda, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Joseph, who was killed in the Korean Conflict in 1950; three brothers and one sister.
