Mary Mikkelson
Funeral services for Mary (Mrs. Chris) Mikkelson, 93, of Breckenridge will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, with Rev. Reuben Mellum officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery, Wahpeton.
Mrs. Mikkelson died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital.
Visitation will begin 1 p.m. Tuesday at Joseph Vertin & Sons, Breckenridge.
She was born Oct. 5, 1880, at Dwight to Halgrim and Carolina Evjen. She grew up there and attended local schools. She married Chris Mikkelson November, 1901, at Dwight.
They lived and farmed in the Dwight area until moving to Wahpeton where he worked for the railroad. They later moved to Breckenridge. Mr. Mikkelson died in 1938.
Mrs. Mikkelson was a charter member of the Breckenridge Lutheran Church, ALCW, and North American Benefit Association.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Clara Beach, Breckenridge, and Florence (Mrs. Oscar) Sheistad, Wahpeton; three sons, Clarence and Richard, Breckenridge, and Orten, Osakis, Minn.; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded by her husband, son Robert and three grandchildren.
