Obituary
Funeral Held Monday For Mrs. Morden
Funeral services were held this afternoon from Schmitt & Poulton funeral home for Mrs. Wallace Morden, 62, who died Thursday noon at her home in this city. Rev. P.A. Gisvold officiated and pallbearers were Dr. A. W. Plachte, Garnet Marks, Sam Lock, Stanley Beach, Kermit Lee and Harold Lenzmeier.
Nellie Garvik was born at Hurricane Lake, N.D., March 6, 1896. She attended school at York, N. D., and at Crookston, Minn. In 1916 the family moved to Grand Forks where she was employed as a saleslady. In 1938 she went to Minneapolis and was employed at John W. Thomas Score as a bridal consultant. August 29, 1951 she was united in marriage to Wallace E. Morden at Fergus Falls and has been associated in business with her husband in the Bassett Jewelry Store since.
She was a past president of Post No. 6. American Legion Auxiliary at Grand Forks, past state music chairman of the auxiliary. She was a past state oracle of the Royal Neighbors of North Dakota and was a member of Royal Neighbors camp at Fargo.
In Wahpeton she became a member of the Order of the Easter Star, Clover Rebekah Lode and the VFW Auxiliary.
Member of the Legion Auxiliary attended the funeral service as an honorary body. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in the Bassett family lot.
