Obituary
Soren Malling
Funeral services for Soren N. Malling, 78, Wahpeton, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Gospel Tabernacle, Breckenridge, with Rev. Harold Brynteson, officiating. Mr. Malling died Sunday night at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening at Vertin's-Wahpeton Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Organist will be Mrs. Sam Wiertzema, Jr., with vocal music by Mrs. Clara Dohman and Mrs. Wayne Pratt.
Honorary casket bearers are Jack McDougall, Ralph Christopherson, Ben Olson, Hans Christoferson, Ralph Brackin and O. K. Olson. Active casket bearers are Stanley Kressin, Larry Michels, Harland Michels, Blair Michels, Leslie Michels and Richard Michels.
Malling was born Feb. 11, 1896 at Luck, Wis., to Gorgan and Catherine (Larssen) Malling. He attended local schools and served in the Army during World War I. He operated a drag line at Luck.
He was married to Kathinka Olson Sullivan Nov. 5, 1927. The couple lived at Veblen, S.D., before moving to Wahpeton in 1929 where he was employed in constuction by Thompson Lumber Yard.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Roman (Hazel) Michels, Breckenridge, and Mrs. Corwin (Violet) Kressin, Minot, seven grandsons and nineteen great grandchildren.

The Garden of Prayer is located in the Memorial Gardens, which comprises the northern half of the cemetery.
