Obituary
Mrs. Matejka, Sr. Dies Sunday
Mrs. Frank (Mary) Matejka, Sr., of Breckenridge, died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge.
Funeral services at St. Mary’s Catholic Church will be Wednesday at 10:30 am., with Rev. Frederick Kampsen officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Born in Czechozlovakia, Oct 22, 1895, Mrs. Matejka grew to young womanhood there and in August 1916 she was married to Gotlieb Moravic in Germany. He preceded her in death in June 1919. In 1920, she came to U.S. with her daughter, Elizabeth, moving to Chicago with relatives.
In Sept. 21, 1921, she was married to Frank Matejka in Chicago. They came to Breckenridge, where they made their home since.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, FVW Auxiliary, and Zebj Lodge.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday through the day, with a Bible Vigil Service at 8 p.m. at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home. A Rosary will be at 9 p.m. Tuesday night.
Surviving are her husband; her son, Frank J. of Breckenridge; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Gunness of Breckenridge and Mrs. Frank (Elizabeth) Bina, St. Paul; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
