Patrick Manning

WOLVERTON - Patrick Wayne Manning, 36, of Wolverton died Saturday in St. Francis Hospital after a 10 month illness. The funeral will be at 2 Tuesday in the United Church of Christ in Wahpeton with the Rev. William Dreyer Jr. officiating. Miss Donna Forkner will be the organist and interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Casket bearers will be Herb Wessels, Jerome Thoennes, Al Rieber, Larry Kath, Allen Colby and Ron Althoff.

Mr. Manning was born Aug. 30, 1935, at Wahpeton, the son of Lyle and Helen Manning. He was graduated from Wahpeton High School and served with the Army during the Koren Conflict. Following the service he was employed as a truck driver at Sparta, Wis. He married Barbara Rajala Dec. 14, 1967, at Sisseton, S.D. The couple lived at Duluth, Minn., for two years and at Doran, Minn., for one year before moving to rural Wolverton about a year ago. He had been employed by the Kent-Doran Grain Co., of this area. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are his wife, three sons and a daughter, Owen of Madison, Wis., Patrick at home, Denis and Gene Rajala, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Helen Manning, rural Wahpeton; and three brothers, Gary of Wahpeton, Roger of Fargo and Rawley of New Hope, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle, Nov. 4, 1970.
