Obituary
Dorothy Martin
Mrs. James (Dorothy) Martin, 63, Wahpeton, died Wednesday at St. John's Hospital, Fargo. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Martin Cullen officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening and Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home chapel.
Dorothy Rogers was born April 28, 1916 at White Earth, Minn., the daughter of Wesley and Agnes (Shambeau) Rogers. She was educated in White Earth and the Marty, S.D. Mission School. She married james B. Martin May 19, 1934 when they moved to Wahpeton. She was employed at the Wahpeton Indian School 22 years as a supervisor-instructional aide. She retired in August, 1979.
She is survived by her husband, three sons, Peter, Muskogee, Okla.; Richard, Minneapolis, Minn.; Gary, Wahpeton; four daughters, Mrs. Bun (Jeanette) Munson, Wahpeton; Mrs. Gene (Bonnie) Walz, Lisbon; Mrs. Brian (Karen) Brant, Blaine, Minn.; Mrs. Antonio (Elaine) Salinas, Minneapolis, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Don (Bessie) Shear, Renton, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and a sister.
