Obituary
Theodore McMangie
Theodore O. McMangie, 59, Wahpeton, died Thursday, Nov. 12 at a Fargo Hospital. The funeral will be at 1:30 Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton, with the Wahpeton American Legion Post conducting military rites.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday until 11 a.m. at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel and at the church for the hour prior to the services. There will also be a prayer service at the chapel Sunday at 7:30.
He was born March 15, 1922 at Abercrombie to Tim and Lydia (Olson) McMangie. He was raised in the Abercrombie and Colfax area. He served in the Army during the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. After discharge he returned to Colfax where he operated a trucking business until he was appointed rural mail carrier at Colfax.
In 1973 he moved to Wahpeton where he was the rural mail carrier for the rural Breckenridge-Kent area. He married Agnes Meier July 20, 1974 at Detroit Lakes.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Wahpeton American Legion.
Survivors include is wife; four step-daughters and two stepsons, Mrs. Tom (Linda) Moots, Eagle, Wis., Mrs. Dainna Czarapata and Mrs. Michael (Kathleen) Fox, both of Whitewater, Wis.; Wendy Meier, Palmyra, Wis., Mark Meier, NDSSS student, Wahpeton; and a brother, Arthur, Colfax.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
