Obituary

C. McQuade Dies; Rites Held Today

Requiem Mass for Clarence M. McQuade, 77, of Wahpeton, was held here at St. John’s Catholic Church with Rev. John Sandell officiating.

Mr. McQuade died Friday at St. Francis Hospital where he was hospitalized one day.

Mr. McQuade was born Aug. 9, 1891, at Graceville Minn., and grew up in the Marion and Montpelier, N.D., areas. He served overseas in World War I and married Olive Towner Feb. 27, 1926, at Moorhead. They moved to Breckenridge where he worked for the Great Northern Railroad. He had also been an automobile salesman and a cattle buyer.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Eldon (Glennys) Medenwaldt, Hankinson, N.D.; Mrs. Douglas (Gayle) Ahlsten, Detroit Lakes Minn.; Mrs. Vernon (Jean) Krause Organge, Calif.; two sons, Archie, Des Moines, Iowa; Larry of Wahpeton; five sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Margaret) Tiffany, and Mrs. Chriselda Liter, both of Lawndale, Calif.; Mrs. Ray (Rozine) Martin, Auburn, Wash.; Mrs. Ray (Agnes) Bauer and Mrs. Edward (Maxine) Bruns, both of Durand, Wis.; three brothers, Martin, Seattle, Wash.; John McLaren, Medford, Ore.; and Fred McLaren, Reno, Nev.

Pallbearers were Cecil Sheeley, Dennis Boumont, Dale Bruns, Paul Bruns, Oren Meyer and Paul Medenwaldt.

Vertin’s, Wahpeton, was in charge of arrangements.

The Garden of the Christus is located in the Memorial Gardens, which comprises the northern half of the cemetery.
