Obituary
Vera Meyer
Funeral services for Mrs. Alfred (Vera) Meyer, 69, Wahpeton, were held at 2 p.m. Monday (today) at Grace Lutheran Church in Breckenridge with Rev. F.C. Schmidt officiating. Burial was at Fairview Memorial Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Mrs. Meyer died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge.
Casket bearers were Paul Denow, Arlin Christenson, Norman Kubela, Oscar Haarstad, Kermit Wateland and Eldon Medenwaldt.
The organist was Mrs. Alfred Koppelman. Leonard Sethre was the vocalist, with accompaniment by Alvin Ambach.
Mrs. Meyer was born Aug. 14, 1914, at Barney, N.D., the daughter of Herman and Anna (Wolter) Gallmeyer. She grew up at Barney and attended schools there.
On March 12, 1931, she married Alfred Meyer at Moorhead. The couple farmed north of Wyndmere from 1934-46.
The couple then formed Meyer Jones Implement of Wahpeton in 1964 with their son-in-law Dale Jones. The Meyers moved to Wahpeton in 1959, where Mrs. Meyer was head of the parts department for the company.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Breckenridge.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Doris) Jones, Wahpeton; a son, James, Wyndmere; mother, Mrs. Herman (Anna) Gallmeyer, Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center; a brother, Alvin Gallmeyer, Eugene, Ore.; and three grandchildren.
