Obituary
Hattie Mielke
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at Vertin's Wahpeton Chapel for Mrs. Robert (Hattie) Mielke Sr., 84, with Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Mielke died early Friday morning at St. Francis Hospital.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday until time of service at Vertin's-Wahpeton Chapel. There is no prayer service.
She was born Dec. 22, 1892, at Great Bend, N.D., to Carl F. and Catherine (Worner) Mittag. She attended local schools and married Robert Mielke Sr., Dec. 21, 1918. The couple lived at Ferney, S.D., where her husband was a mechanic in an auto body shop. Mr. Mielke died Aug. 27, 1942.
Mrs. Mielke moved to Wahpeton after her husband's death and was employed at the State School of Science laundry service and the Wahpeton Nursing Home. She continued to live in Wahpeton following retirement. She resided at the Leach Home and the past month and half at the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center.
Surviving are one son, Robert Jr., Bloomington, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. John (Eleanor) Seaburg, Great Falls, Mont.; one sister, Mrs. George (Ellen) Schlener, Wahpeton; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded by an infant son, an infant daughter, one sister and four brothers.
