Obituary
Edward Miller Rites Saturday
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Vertin’s-Wahpeton Chapel for Edward H. Miller, 72, of Wahpeton who died Thursday at his home of an apparent heart attack. Officiating were the Rev. Lyle Peterson and the Rev. George Mehok. Organist was Mrs. James Horton and vocalist was Lyle Jacobson. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens in the spring.
Honorary pallbearers were seven grandsons, Jerome and James Lehman, Gene, Gary, David and Mark Hoffman and John Larson.
Active pallbearers were Kenneth Woodrow and Harold Lehman, Paul Bernard, E. W. Sparks and I. C. Kurtz.
Mr. Miller was born March 17, 1896 at Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Nickolas and Mary Miller. The family moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where he attended school. After moving to Mooreton, N.D., he farmed for a time. He married Frieda M. Jehs at Wahpeton Nov. 27, 1917. He worked for the railroad until 1945 when they moved to the west coast where he was employed. Following his retirement, they returned to Wahpeton where they have since resided.
