Leslie Miller Rites Saturday

Leslie Miller, 86, of Wahpeton died Wednesday at his home. Funeral services were held Saturday in the South Methodist Church with the Rev. Ralph D. Cushing of Wyndmere officiating. Mrs. F. D. Brown was the organist and vocalist was Mrs. Donald Heitmann. Interment was in the Garden of Christus, Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.

Honorary pallbearers were E. W. Sparks, Albert Cross, Peter Slegers, Lee Dohman, Edwin Speich, George Schlener, John Edison, Roscoe Prante, Oscar Wehlander.

Active pallbearers were Jack Schlener, Clarence Speich, Milton Bergsjoe, George Poppen, Donald Fauss and Ardell Johnson.

Mr. Miller was born Aug. 16, 1881 at Rewey, Wis., the son of Isac and Martha Miller. He moved to Charles City, Iowa, when a child and later attended college at Madison, Wis. He married Edith A. Rundell on March 1, 1911 at Parker S. D. The couple farmed in Hall Township near Milnor for 45 years, retiring in Wahpeton in 1957. He had been president of the DeLamere, N. D., school board while at Milnor and was active in the Methodist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Eileen Miller of Wahpeton and Mrs. Mervin (Beryl) Poppen of Wyndmere; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Flora) Sanderson, Milwaukee, Wisc.; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife and one son, Lt. Dale Miller, who died while serving in the Air Force over Germany in World War II.
