Obituary
Rural Wahpeton Man Dies in Mishap Saturday
Little L. Myers, 67-year-old rural Wahpeton man, died instantly Saturday night when his car smashed into a bridge three miles west of Wahpeton. His was the only highway death in the county during the long Labor Day weekend.
The mishap occurred about 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Vertin’s-Wahpeton funeral chapel with Rev. Ben H. Fadenrecht officiating. A prayer service will be held at the chapel at 7:30 Tuesday evening.
Visitation will be all day Tuesday and Wednesday until the time of services.
Mr. Myers was born at Waddams Grove, Ill., June 10, 1897. He attended schools and grew to manhood there. He was married to Jessie Gilliams at Waddams Grove. Mrs. Myers died there.
He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Mrs. James (Carol) Lehman, Fargo; Mrs. James (Donna) Meyer, Wyndmere; Mrs. James (Pauline) Thorp, Milledgeville, Ill.; Ruth and Linda at home; six sons, Irvin, Chicago; Eugene, in the Army at Fort Ord, Calif.; Paul, Sacramento, Calif.; Galen, Arthur, N.D., and Ernest and David at home; 15 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Arthur (Alice) Warner, Selma, Va., and one brother, Clark, Freeport, Ill.
