Obituary
Nelson Rites Held Wednesday in Wahpeton
Funeral services for Rudolph W. Nelson, aged 74, who was found dead at his farm home Sunday were held Wednesday afternoon from Vertins, Schmitt & Poulton funeral home. Rev. B. B. Curtis officiated and interment was in the Fairview Cemetery.
Feb. 1, 1875 in Summit township son of the late Edward and Mary Nelson, pioneer residents of this area. Edward Nelson was a member of the state legislature.
Rudolph grew to manhood in Summit township, attending school there and later farming. He never married. He was a member of the Baptist church of Fairmount. He was known as an industrious man and good neighbor.
He is survived by four brothers and two sisters; Albert Nelson, Rock Springs Wyo.; Ralph, Salem, Ore.; Roland, Mohall, N.D.; Edward W Nelson, Fairmount; Sarah, Mrs. Donald Wilbur, Portland Ore.; Ethel, Mrs. Clayton Hasty of Wahpeton. There are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and on sister.
Pallbearers were Elroy Langenwalter, Ralph Reubisch, Henry Schmitt, George Ruddy, Donald Pausch, David Miller. Mrs. M. F. Poulton was soloist at the last rites with Mrs. Fred Brown organist.
