Frank Elliott Nunns was born August 7, 1869, in Quebec, Canada, the son of William and Eleanor Elliott Nuns. While still an infant he was brought by his parents to this country, living in Grundy and O’Brien counties in Iowa during the month.

He was married to Miss Valeria Mayer at her home near Hartley, Iowa on December 22, 1896. For the last 29 years Mr. and Mrs. Nunns have lived on their farm near Dwight. Mr. Nunns was an active member and officer of the Dwight Congregational church, and since it merged with the First Congregational church of Wahpeton has been a loyal officer here.

He passed away quite suddenly at the Wahpeton hospital on Sunday afternoon, May 31, 1936. He is survived by Mrs. Nunns and all four children: Lida (Mrs. Frank Bondy) and Eleanor (Mrs. Elmer Dybdal) both of Great Falls, Mont., Harold who lives at home, and Frederick of Bozeman, Mont.

Services were held at the First Congregational church on Wednesday afternoon with Rev. James B. Casky officiating. Burial was in Fairview cemetery. Pallbearers were Elmer Ward, R. T. Barber, Will Coppin, Charles Hanson of Everdell, Carl Ness of Fargo, and Walter Crawford.

Relatives and friends who came some distance to be present were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mayer, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Mayer, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Krugenberg, all of Hartley, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Dybdal and Mrs. Rena Dybdal of Elbow Lake, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ness of Fargo.

Mr. Nunns was an unassuming dependable, friendly Christian man who will be missed not only by his neighbors and close friends but by many people of Wahpeton and this part of the county.
