Obituary
Rites Held For Clarence Nygaard On Wednesday
Funeral services were held Wednesday from Vertin’s-Wahpeton Chapel for Clarence Nygaard, 55, Wahpeton., former owner of the Motor Inn Garage here who died last week.
Rev. Loyal E. Golf was officiating clergyman. Art Azure was soloist and Mrs. F. D. Brown organist.
Mr. Nygaard was born at Underwood, Minn., Jan 2, 1907 and lived there until 1932 when two brothers established the garage which they operated until recently.
Mr. Nygaard was a veteran of World War II, having entered the Army in 1943, and was a member of the Wahpeton American Legion Post.
He married Valeria Comstock May 25, 1948, who with a daughter, Kay, living at home survives.
Other survivors include three brothers, Henry, Wahpeton; and Odin and Dan, both of Underwood; three sisters, Mrs. C. A. Seffens, Battle Lake, Minn, Mrs. Berger Aasen, Under and Mrs. Edwin Gilbertson, Duluth. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers were Warren Doberstein, Clyde Hausken, Peter Myhra, Art Amble, Herman Gagelin and John Flaa. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery.
Vertin’s-Wahpeton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
