Services Held Wednesday for I. Nygaard
Funeral services for Ingvald Nygaard, 59, of Wahpeton were held in the Vertin-Schmitt and Poulton Funeral Home, North Chapel, Wednesday. Rev. P.A. Gisvold officiated at the services for Mr. Nygaard who died Monday. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Wahpeton.
Mr. Nygaard was born Jan. 27, 1901, to Mr. and Mrs. Ole Nygaard at Underwood, Minn. He grew up and attended school there and later worked as a mechanic. In 1937, with his brothers Henry and Clarence, he opened the Motor Inn garage in Wahpeton. He had been in failing health for several years. He never married.
He is survived by four brothers, Henry and Clarence of Wahpeton, Odin and Daniel, both of Underwood, three sisters, Mrs. Edwin Gilbertson of Duluth, Mrs. C. A. Seffens of Battle Lake, and Mrs. Berger (Marie) Aasen of Underwood, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
Pallbearers were Clyde Hausken, German Gagelin, John Flaa, Peter Myhra, Herman Heigeson and Art Hauskens. Mrs. Fred Brown was the organist and Art Azure was the soloist.
