Obituary
Rites Held for Henry Nygaard Of Wahpeton
Funeral services were held Sunday from Vertin’s-Wahpeton Chapel for Henry Nygaard, 65, retired Wahpeton garage owner, who died Friday at St. Francis Hospital after an extended illness.
Rev. Loyal E. Golf was the officiating clergyman. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Nygaard was born at Underwood, Minn., Oct 22, 1897. He operated an auto repair shop at Audubon, Minn., and at Fargo before coming to Wahpeton in 1933 and joining his brothers, Ingvald and Clarence in forming the Nygaard Brothers Motor Inn garage. They sold the business in 1961.
Mr. Nygaard is survived by two brothers, Odin, Battle Lake Minn., and Dan, Underwood, and three sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Olena) Gilbertson, Duluth, Minn.; Mrs. (Johanna) Seffens, Battle Lake, and Marie, Underwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ingvold in 1960, and Clarence in 1962; one other brother and two sisters.
Mrs. F. D. Brown was organist. Arthur Azure was vocalist. Pallbearers were Helmer Helgeson, James Olson, Peter Myhra, Herman Gagelin, A. N. Amble and Clyde Hausken.
