Obituary
Phillip Neppl, student, Wahpeton Senior High
The funeral for Phillip E. Neppl, 17, Wahpeton, will be today (Tuesday) at 2 p.m. at United Church of Christ (Congregational) in Wahpeton with Rev. Ken Trane and Rev. Dale Carmen officiating. Visitation was held Monday, and there will also be visitation today from 8:30 a.m. - noon at the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial is at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Phillip died Saturday, Nov. 26, 1994, at his home.
Phillip was born March 18, 1977, to Randy and Jan (Emery) Neppl at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan. He moved to Wahpeton as an infant and attended the Wahpeton school system and was currently a senior at WHS. Phillip was active in school and enjoyed sports, especially baseball, football and hockey, and was involved in the construction trade program at WHS. He participated and won the VICA state skill level in carpentry, participating at the national level. He was involved in FFA and was a member of United Church of Christ, participating in the youth group and was a past president of the group. Phillip worked several jobs growing up in the Twin Towns, including delivering papers for the Daily News and Fargo Forum; working for Snyder Drug in Breckenridge, and was currently working at the elementary school system after school. He was a member of the National Guard CO-B 142nd ECB Heavy. His future plans included attending basic training and AIT for the National Guard and then enrolling in Alexandria Tech School next fall.
Phillip loved the outdoors; in the fall he hunted waterfowl and deer, and in the summer he fished and swam with his friends. He enjoyed the companionship of his dogs and was thoughtful in helping family and friends with special projects.
Phillip is survived by his parents, Randy and Jan Neppl, brother, Chris, and sister, Stefani, all of Wahpeton; grandmothers, Phyllis Emery and Olivia Neppl, Breckenridge; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clyde Emery; and grandparents, Harold and Laureign Neppl.
