Obituary
Lois Nelson was born on the family farm near Barney, North Dakota. She graduated from Antelope High School in 1952 and married Roger Nelson, Jan. 1955. They left ND shortly after their wedding and moved to Chicago, IL where Roger attended Chiropractic college and Lois worked in an office. They became parents when their only daughter Denise, was born. Lois and Roger lived most of their adulthood in Fergus Falls, MN. They spent summers at Battle Lake and winters at Mesa, AZ for many years. Lois graduated from Moorhead State with a degree in Elementary Education. She worked as a teaching assistant in Fergus Falls public schools. Lois enjoyed cooking, golfing, bowling and dancing. She loved seeing her family and adored her great grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Roger, her parents, Roy & Esther Ehlers, her brothers David & (Elaine) Ehlers, Ron Ehlers and nephew Bruce Ehlers. Lois is survived by her daughter, Denise Hankey, son-in-law, John Hankey, grandsons, Matt (Andrea) Alex, and great grandchildren Cecilia, and Robert. A grave side service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton, ND September 20, at 4:00 p.m. Lunch to follow.

The Garden of the Christus is located in the Memorial Gardens, which comprises the northern half of the cemetery.
