Odelia Nelson
Services for Mrs. Odelia Nelson, 81, Battle Lake, Minn., formerly of Wahpeton, will be at 11 Saturday at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton. She died Wednesday at the Battle Lake Nursing Home.
Odelia Odden was born April 21, 1897 in Garborg Township, Wyndmere, to Ole and Maria (Aaune) Odden. She was raised there attending local schools. She married Emil Dunham. He died during World War I.
She then married Henry Nelson at Velva, N.D. They farmed at Velva moving to Wyndmere in 1931 where they farmed. They moved to Wahpeton in 1955. He died in 1957. She continued living here and resided at the Leach Home for several years before moving to Battle Lake.
Survivors include four sons, Oscar Dunham, Draper, Utah; Jacy Nelson, Seattle, Wash.; Harvey Nelson, Portland, Ore.; Dr. Roger Nelson, Battle Lake; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a brother, Gilbert Odden, Fergus Falls.
