Obituary
Mrs Oliver Dies Sunday In California
Funeral services were held in Riverside, Calif., Wednesday for Mrs. Edith Oliver, 61, who died Sunday at a hospital in that city. The former Wahpeton resident had been in failing health for sometime. The ashes will be brought here for interment in the Ness family lot in Fairview Cemetery,, date of the committal service be be announced later.
Edith Ness was born at the Ness farm home northeast of Dwight, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Chris Ness. She grew to womanhood there and was married to Donald Work. They resided in Texas for many years and a daughter, Miss Mary Work is located at Harlingen, Texas, while the second daughter, Mrs. Walter Walsh, is located in Riverside.
Her second marriage was to Wesley Oliver in 1942 and they made their home in Wahpeton until his death in 1949. Six years ago Mrs. Oliver went to California and made her home at several points on the west coast.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church, being confirmed in the church at Dwight, was a member of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Oliver was the fourth member of the Ness family to die, the family having number 12 children. Preceding her in death were two brothers, John and Harold Ness and a sister, Mrs Christi Thompson (Hilda).
