Obituary

Mrs. O. J. Olson Dies Monday at Local Hospital

Funeral Arrangements Not Complete; Rites To Be at St. John’s

Death came to Mrs. O. J. Olson, well known local woman, who had spent her entire live in this community, Monday morning a St. Francis hospital. She had been a hospital patient for 17 days receiving medical care for a heart condition. She had been in failing health following an attack of pneumonia a year ago. Her husband, the late Oscar J. Olson, died in 1944.

Susan Rettig was born in Wahpeton, March 5, 1890, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rettig. She attended local schools, then became a printshop employee. Her last position was as linotype operators at the Globe Gazette.

She was married April 29, 1914 to Oscar J. Olson, register of deeds of the county for many years and later cashier in the National Bank. Mrs. Olson was active in several organizations and was a member of St. John’s Ladies Aid.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed but will be held from St. John’s church.

Surviving is one sister; Mrs. E. B. Kohnke of Bancroft, Ia., who was with here at the time of her death, and one brother, Ed Rettig of San Diego, Calif.
