Obituary
Mrs. Olson Rites Friday
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Church of God here for Ms. Amelia Olson, 85, resident of Wahpeton since 1919 who died Monday at the St. Mary hospital where she had been a patient for the past two weeks. She had been ill health the past two years.
Rev. John L. McMullen will officiate with the Vertin Funeral Home of Wahpeton in charge of arrangements. Interment will be in the family lot in Fairview cemetery. Short prayer services at 1:30 at the chapel will precede the church service.
Mrs. Olson was born in Norway, March 27, 1867 and was married to Lawrence Olson on May 26, 1889. Mr. Olson came to the United States to the Lidgerwood vicinity where he homesteaded and Mrs. Olson and the five children joined him here a year later. They later moved to Monticello, Minn., before coming to Wahpeton in 1919. Mr. Olson died in 1945.
Survivors include five sons, Arnold, Ben and Arthur Olson of Wahpeton, Andrew of Milwaukee and Perry of Breckenridge; four daughters, Mrs. Soren Malling, Mrs. Edward L. Cuff and Mrs. Walter Schmidt of Wahpeton and Mrs. Ralph Christopherson of Great Bend; a brother Neil Peterson of Millville Minn., 48 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.
