Obituary
Alice Olson
Mrs. Andrew (Alice) Olson, 91, Wahpeton, died Tuesday at the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Nyhusmoen officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening and Friday until the time of services at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel. Alice Mathiesen was born Oct. 28, 1888 to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Mathiesen at Woodhall near Dwight, N.D. She was raised there and attended local schools.
She married Andrew Olson Nov. 4, 1911 at Dwight. They farmed and operated a grocery store at Dwight for many years. They sold the store in 1955 and in 1957 moved to Wahpeton. Her husband died Sept. 29, 1960. In 1964 she moved to the Leach Home in Wahpeton. In 1977 she moved to the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth, San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. George (Minnie) Fischer, Scottsdale, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Wallace, several brothers and sisters.
