Obituary
Andrew Olson Rites Saturday in Wahpeton
Funeral services for Andrew Olson, 74, who died this morning at the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center, will be held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from the Vertin, Schmitt-Poulton North Chapel. Rev. P.A. Gisvold will officiate. Friends may call at the chapel Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday morning until the hour of service.
Andrew Olson was born in Dwight Township September 6, 1886, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Olson. He grew to manhood there and married Alice Mathiesen November 4, 1911 at Dwight.
He was in the mercantile business at Galchutt for years, later farmed in Dwight township. He operated a store in Dwight 12 years until his retirement.
For the past year and a half he has been a patient at the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Wallace, of this city and Kenneth J. Olson, of San Diego. There are four grandchildren: Sheila, Mrs. Mark Tehle, Tenney, Minn., Frederick and Bonnie, Mrs. Rob. Montgomery, of Santa Barbara and Gayle, at home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters, being the last surviving member of the family.
