Nellie Olson
POWERS LAKE, N.D. - A committal service for Mrs. Peter M. (Helen Nellie) Olson, 96, of Powers Lake will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at Fairview Cemetery in Wahpeton with Rev. George Mehok officiating. Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
The funeral will be earlier Saturday at Powers Lake where Mrs. Olson died Wednesday.
Helen Nellie Gainor was born May 16, 1880 at Good Thunder, Minn. She taught school in North Dakota for several years before marrying Peter M. Olson Nov. 7, 1910.
The couple lived at Powers Lake where he died in 1952 and where she continued to live.
Survivors are a son, Andrew of Battle View, N.D., a daughter, Verna Kelly of Alexandria, Wash.; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
