Obituary
Barney A. Olson Dies Wednesday In Minneapolis
Barney A. Olson, 64, lifelong resident of this community, died at the Veterans hospital in Minneapolis Wednesday afternoon. He underwent surgery there Wednesday morning.
Funeral services have tentatively been set for Monday. Schmitt-Poulton Funeral Home of Wahpeton is making the arrangements.
Mr. Olson was a rural mail carrier at Mooreton for many years. During World War i he served as corporal in 150th Field Artillery, serving overseas in the battles of Meuse-Argonne. He was mustered out April 30, 1918.
He is survived by his wife Frances, son Calvin and daughters, Velma, Mrs. John Ingraham, Council Bluff, Iowa; Geraldine, Mrs. Peter Vogel, Fairbault, Minn; Lois, Mrs. Duane Holly, Sunnyvale, Calif; and Carol Olson, who makes her home with Vogels. He also leaves three brothers, Maurice Olson, of this city, Elmer Olson, of Ephrata, Wash.; and Fred of Great Falls, Mont.; and two sisters, Mrs. Martin Melberg and Marion Olson, of the city.
