Rites Held for Marion Olson Of Wahpeton
Funeral services were held today (Monday) for Marion Olson, 83, Wahpeton at Bethel Lutheran church in Wahpeton with Rev. Loyal E. Golf officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Wahpeton. Miss Olson died Thursday at her home in Wahpeton.
Marion Olson was born March 2, 1879 in Dwight Township and was raised on her parent’s farm. In 1911, she homesteaded near Fort Benton in Montana. In 1916 she returned to Wahpeton. Later she returned to Montana. From 1940 to 1956 she worked at Lake Norden, S.D. returning to Wahpeton in 1956. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Martin (Pearl) Melberg of Ada, Minn., and three brothers, Maurice of Wahpeton, Fred of Great Falls, Mont., Elmer of Ephrata, Wash.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Emma Holm, and Hanna in childhood.
Pallbearers were Edwin Larson, Alfred Karst Ed Mathesen, Gerald Johnson, Richard Cook and J. A. Quamme.
The Jos. Vertin & Sons Funeral Home of Breckenridge was in charge of arrangements.
