Frank Oliver Dies At 78

Funeral services for Charles Franklin Oliver, 78

Funeral services for Charles Franklin Oliver, 78, known as Frank Oliver, will be held Tuesday at the United Methodist Church at 11 a.m., with Rev. Stanley Mueller officiating.

Mr. Oliver died Friday at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge.

Born Nov. 17, 1891, at Sioux City, Iowa. Mr. Oliver was the son of Mary and Eli Oliver. He came to Pipestone, Minn., and then to Wahpeton, by covered wagon in 1898. His father was a rural carrier here.

Mr. Oliver was married to Marie Hanson, Feb 12, 1917 at St. Paul. They resided in Wahpeton where Mr. Oliver was employed by Hausauers for 34 years. He retired in 1956 and moved to Ottertail Lake.

He was a member of the Wahpeton Odd Fellows Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Charles F. of Wahpeton; one daughter, Mrs. J Oscar (Pearl) Lund of Wahpeton; eight grandchildren; and two sisters Mrs. Howard (Josie) Paul of Pontiac, Mich., and Mrs. Edward (Helen) Severied of Devils Lake, N.D.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Wesley.

Pallbearers will be Al Hausauer, Roy Hausauer, Matt Braun, Evans Braun, Vernon Bakken and Donald Bakken.

Organist will be Thomas Lee with Gary Jacobson as vocalist.

Visitation at Vertin’s Wahpeton will be this evening (Monday) or at the church one hour prior to service.

Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.

The Garden of the Christus is located in the Memorial Gardens, which comprises the northern half of the cemetery.
