Sam Pappas Buried in Local Cemetery
Sam Pappas, 62 for many years of Breckenridge and a resident of Fargo 14 years, died Friday evening at a Fargo hospital.
The funeral was held Tuesday in Fargo and interment was in Fairview cemetery in Wahpeton. Mr. Pappas was born on Sam Island, Greece, in 1894, and migrated to the U.S. when he was 18. In 1930 he went to Breckenridge, Minn., from Jacksonville, Fla., and managed Sam’s café there. He went to Fargo in 1942 and managed a café until 1947, when he retired. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox church.
He leaves a son, John G. Pappas, of Fargo and three grandchildren.
