Obituary
The funeral for M. D. Patten who met with death Wednesday evening, by falling from the scaffold of a building on which he was working at Mooreton, was held yesterday afternoon from the family residence on 8th street.
Mark Davis Patten was born in Monroe county, Ohio, in 1816. In 18__ he came west and in 1892 moved to Wahpeton to give his children the advantages of our schools. Deceased leaves a widow and four children, Walter, Will, Enr'e, and Penny. During his ten years residing here Mr Patten made many warm friends. Walter Patten who is in a drug store at Grand Forks, came down to attend the funeral. Will, who is employed in the census department at Washington, was unable to come on account of the distance.
