Obituary
Mrs. Peterson, City Resident 20 Years, Dies
Mrs. John H. (Bertha Maria) Peterson, for twenty years a resident of Wahpeton, died Thursday morning at the St. Francis hospital in Breckenridge where she had been a patient for the past three weeks. She was 73 years old.
She was born in Meeker county, Minn., April 29, 1878, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Johnson. She attended the district school there and the high school in Atwater, Minn. For several years she taught school.
She married John Peterson on June 14, 1902 at Atwater. After their marriage they moved to Browns Valley, Minn., and lived at several places in Minnesota and North Dakota before coming to Wahpeton in 1931. Mr. Peterson died in April, 1944. She leaves one son, Sidney of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Bertina Estrem of Atwater and Josephine Stenberg of Minneapolis; a brother, Rev. Martin Lien of Boyd, Minn; two grandchildren and 15 nephews and nieces.
Funeral services have been set for Monday at 2 p.m. from the Bethel Lutheran church here. Rev. P. A. Gisvold will officiate. Arrangements are in charge of Schmidt and Olson of this city.
