Obituary
Rudolph Pickus
Services for Rudolph Pickus, 85, Breckenridge, will be at 2 Friday at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, Breckenridge. Rev. Eugene Floistad will officiate with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton. He died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital.
Visitation starts at 2 Thursday and will continue through the evening at Joseph Vertin and Sons Chapel. There will also be visitation Friday until the time of services.
Rudolph Pickus was born March 6 1893 at Decatur, Ill., to William and Marie (Kraicski) Pickus. He moved with his family to Chaska, Minn., where he grew up and attended school. He later moved with his family to Minneapolis where he married Harriet O'Connor. The couple lived in Minneapolis where he was employed as a car inspector for many years. She died in 1959.
On June 21, 1961, he married Bessie Olson at Wheaton. The couple has since resided in Breckenridge.
He was a member of Employees Mutual and Lodge 804.
Survivors include his second wife, Bessie, Breckenridge; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a stepson, Ed O'Connor, Minneapolis; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Donald (Dalliss) Nelson, Breckenridge; a step grandson, a brother, Henry, Savage, Minn.; and a sister, Mrs. Ann Peterson, Bloomington, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, a son, two brothers and a sister.
