Obituary
Marcus Peterson Dies Sunday
Marcus Peterson, 57, of Dwight died at his home Sunday of an apparent heart attack. Funeral services will be at 2 Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Dwight with the Rev. T. Hans Olson officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening at Vertin’s-Wahpeton Funeral Home and Wednesday at the church prior to services.
Mr. Peterson was born Dec. 15, 1910, at Regent, N.D., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Peterson. He grew up on a farm near Regent and entered the Army at the age of 31 where he served four years. Following service, he moved with his family to DeLamere. He married Irene Buchholz of Wyndmere Sept. 3, 1946. The couple farmed near Wyndmere for seven years. He then worked for the Great Northern Railway. They lived at Kent, Minn., for two years and then moved to Dwight.
He is survived by his wife; four sons and one daughter, Dennis and Gary of Minneapolis, Donald, Dale and Delores at home; two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Frank (Esther) Motis of Cogswell, N.D., Mrs. Orville (Dorothy) Hansen of Campbell, Minn., and Lloyd Peterson of Kent, Minn.
